This photograph is from the Records of the Agency for International Development and was taken as part of an initiative to document Marshall Plan activities in Europe and Africa. The caption rightly points out that this woman’s load of produce “looks as big as [the] small tree” just behind her. I just hope she doesn’t get headaches after her market runs.
