This photograph is of the Courbey Court Eating Club at Yale University. Former US President Gerald Ford was one of the distinguished members of this interesting club—he can be seen on the back row, eighth from left. I think we could probably devote a whole Tumblr to photos of Gerald Ford eating… we seem to have quite a few.

This group of happy people is celebrating a successful smelt run on Lake Huron by feasting on the fruits of their labors.

Judging by her smooth handling of chopsticks in the Peking Hotel’s kitchen, it looks like Mrs. Nixon took the advice in Dwight Chapin’s memo quite seriously…
Prior to President Nixon’s historic visit to China, Deputy Assistant Dwight L. Chapin sent out this memo to remind members of Nixon’s party that handling eating utensils in China might be difficult without a little practice.

This photograph is of former U.S. President Gerald Ford and his relatives enjoying watermelon on a summer day. Ford is the cap-wearing boy in front holding two large pieces of watermelon—a big appetite befitting a future football player!
